They wouldn't let me back in ( my wrist band was white, not green???) to settle my $60 tab and get my credit card back. I had to start crying for the manager to let me in. I just wanted to pay and go home. It was horrible.
by Joe B. on When you hear that a bar in the Mission has a stripper pole upstairs in the VIP area, it kind of becomes a must-see sort of thing. I mean, who knows what kind of trouble you could get into with the mix of Mission hipsters, (ok, maybe they are too cool for Bruno's, not many in evidence) Marina types, girls who look like they BARTed in from Dublin-Pleasanton, partying Asian kids, and cruising choads? Answer: potentially a lot. Bruno's is fun, sexy, and friendly. People get down with all sorts of other people here. They make a mean Gentleman Jack Manhattan. I love the mirror covering the wall with all the drinks drawn on it - classy! To the girl who was walking up the steps to the VIP room with toilet paper still stuck to her shoe: We saved you from social disaster, babe. You owe us. Big time. To the girl across the long table from us with the permanent scowl: you should have taken some of the same happy pills your friend was apparently on. smile! To the DJ: you made my friend feel old (she's 27) and made me feel like I was at work where I hear all the current club hits from the stereo installation bay. Nice job mashing up, though! Always good to bring "ABC" into the mix! Luckily we got in just before the cover. With a $10 cover, it would have been about 3 stars . . .
by Osvaldo Mulchrone on If you want to get funky and shake your booty but don't want to dress up and don't want to spend much money, this is the place to go. Especially on Tuesday nights when it's funk night. The DJ brings out the 70's and 80's grooves you may have forgotten about. Who doesn't like a little MJ throwback? It doesn't get going until about 11pm. Don't expect a singles scene. The crowd is not for beautiful people only. Bring your own toilet paper and/or travel size seat covers. The bathrooms are pretty yucky (think MJQ.)
