Black walls with Angel wings On the walls. Small, narrow pathways- which makes it easy to knock an ankle against the raised platforms for the seating areas. Good string drinks though.

(1) It is not le cl-uhb. It is LE CLOO. Have some class dahl-ing. (2) Dress to impress is not a one-night a week charade for you. You are already impressive. (3) Forget Corporate Amex. Bust out Centurion. Le Club is incredibly classy, perched above Nob Hill and a stone's throw from Grace Cathedral, Top of the Mark, and the Fairmont. With limited information on the website, Gina was gracious enough to email the menu and accommodate last minute reservations. If you call ~4PM, there is a high likelihood of talking to a live person over the phone. The restaurant turned after-hours bar is located on the second/mezzanine floor of a stone erect residence. You arrive, the greeters whisk your coats away, escort you in the elevator, and voila you make a grand entrance in the cushy place. The place is oozing with gray hair suave bankers bringing their suited lackeys, surrounded by gorgeous women. Us girls on a GNO opted away from the bar and into the back dining area for some great catch-up conversations. When I was not paying attention to my GFs, my eyes would wonder on the back wall, clouded blue sky paintings. Felt at peace with my expensive habits. (Must be the wine clouding my judgment.) The wines by the bottle are concentrated in the mid- to high- range ($150+) with very few in the low- to mid- (less than $150) range. A well-deserved splurge in such a decadent restaurant/bar. The ladies' room is located through the VIP area with an offshoot pool table room. The pool table is really something. The "IT" bar at the moment. Despite a down economy, I hope to find a bunch of lavish excuses to come back.

My friend/roomates mom was in town and my "downtown" budget got treated to an "uptown" dinner at this painfully stylish dining institution. The enormous space, the uber trendy decor, loud dance club music, European fake tans and exorbitant prices all lend themselves to the reputation that preceded it. I felt like I was caught up in one of those New York moments where you are so hip it hurts (ie Sex and the City). Ultimately, though, the food is good, the ambiance is rad but the service was pretty awful. I enjoyed it thoroughly. From the wait, I have a feeling that Tao is going to be on the scene for a while.
