Sound:       5 Stars DJ Talent:  5 Stars Staff:           1 Star The sound system is awesome - they book great DJ's, and you can find an interesting crowd on some nights. The only downside that ruins Cielo for me, is the fact that the security at the door is one notch above a rubber glove airport screening for an Arab holding the Quran.  Very invasive. Further ruining the mood is the bouncers who walk around like prison guards shining flashlights and watching everybody.  I can never relax and have a good time if I feel I'm being "watched", with bouncers invading my personal space looking for who knows what. One of the bartenders was kinda cool - and the bathroom attendant is cool, and I like the smoking area.  Other than that, eh.... I'd rather hit up something more underground. It's a tourist trap for people who don't know New York and buy into the hype around the brand name and the DJ talent they book. Music is good if you like the more popular house/techno DJ's - but other than that, there are better venues with a cooler crowd and less rude staff.

I have totally fallen in love with this place. I'm a jeans and tee kinda girl who occasionally likes to get dolled up and pampered and I have found my new hangout destination when i'm feeling that urge. Like everyone else I can say this place is a tad bit pricey. Drinks average $11 a piece and the beers from $6-$8. What would you expect from the W though. Seriously. I have to say i'll just have to budget a bit better, but the staff and the crowd make up for it. The staff is super friendly which I was a bit shocked by at first and the crowd is the same. I honestly expected snobby and pretentious but instead I got the complete opposite. The environment is warm and the staff is friendly, outgoing, and always full of great convo. And the layout and decor......O lawd. Fabulous. I've been to 2 of the hotels hot spots. If you like chill and chic hang out in the lobby. It doesn't seem to get as crowded as the Wet Bar on the 16th floor, but it still makes for a great time and more laid back scenario. If you're into mingling, dancing, drinking, and doing all this pool side then head up to the 16th floor known as Wet. The vibe is the same but def more upbeat, and there's a pool with a great view of downtown, minus the huge Southern Company sign facing you on one side. My only complaint with the Wet Bar would be that they need more pool side seating. If you don't arrive early good luck. The plus side is that on Sat and Sun they have pool parties open to the public with d.js spinning all day long into the night. It really is an awesome place and I would highly recommend it to everyone no matter what you're into. If you can afford to spend just a little bit of cheese then go because I guarantee whatever idea you may have in your head about an experience here can be topped by the cool and attractive staff and the ambience. Also i've noticed at most W hotels the parking can be quite the turn off. Here you have options. There's street parking which works out because it's not like Midtown where everyone parks on the street, or you can valet which can run you $8 or $15. $15 is if you're attending a special event at the hotel, and I don't find $8 at all expensive for valet at a W and they actually park your car versus taking your money and allowing you to park your own car. I never understood that. ?? Anyway, I've found a new love and it goes by the name of The W - Downtown.

The Veggie burger is claimed to be the best in the world.  I've had better but it is pretty damn good.  During happy hour it was only $5 with a side of fries. Beer selection was fantastic and the prices were pretty good being that the bar is in Olde City. The barkeep was super chill and I plan on going back anytime I am in Olde City.
