Ive been here for a Poetry Slam. It's $10 to get in. They definitely bring in the talented poets but damn they overcrowd this place. The fire marshal would have a heart attack. There is plenty of seating space - or you could slt on the floor (hopefully they're clean?). As far as the poets - they were great and really touched me. Everyone's got to go at least once.

Came here for my friend's bday and waited in line at this horribly pretentious club for 2 hours. The bouncer had the nerve to ask if we were trying to go into Ritual (around the corner, asian teeny bopper club). The are in fact, 2 different clubs. I talked to some chick while in line at Halo that we were on the list, but I think she used up her 2 brain cells trying to answer my questions, so I moved on. Yes, ppl here are pretty, but come on, paying $20 cover and to be treated like "nobody's" ? Not for me. Never even got in and will never try again.

Our company held our Holiday parties here a couple of times and I just love this place. I like the old mobster vibe I get from Cafe Du Nord, especially when you're coming down the steps. I don't know if we catered the food from some place else or if they provided it, but it was off the hook (Lamb chops rock!). The staff of Cafe Du Nord were really cool especially the bartenders (thanks for the Irish Car Bomb!). I know they have live bands play here so I'm sure it's a pretty poppin' place to go. Just watch yourself going up the stairs once you're three sheets to the wind.
