by Cora L. on What an interesting night! I went with a friend around 7PM on a Wednesday, and it was dark and empty. Luckily, the guy outside told us that they were indeed open, and so we ventured on in. While the venue doesn't have very many tables, it is spacious and gives off a nice relaxed ambiance. And the live band playing near the windows, across from the tables and the bar (which are on opposite sides) is super cool. They looked like they were having a fantastic time and I really enjoyed the music. The food was great. We ordered one of the beef entrees (which was practically raw) and the lamb/veggie dish. They were served on the traditional Ethiopian flatbread and boy was it delicious! Everything was packed with contrasting flavors that went well together - sweet, tangy, and a hint of spicy all at once! The Ethiopian honey wine was also delightful, very different. Our waitress was nice enough but we didn't really see much of her. Their bar menu looked good as well, and I'd like to one day go back and try their bar burger! I would definitely eat dinner here again also, and I thought it was a great laid-back experience for a casual dinner after a long day of work.
by Crystal S. on This place is delicious. I'm an avid meat-eater, and I can't get enough of the seitan meatloaf...it's just that good. They always have a good beer selection on tap, and the waitstaff has always been friendly, even when the kitchen is slammed. Proces are reasonable, too. I'll be back here often.
by Dirk Willers on not my scene (3 words: peanuts on tables), but i guess if you like live music (cover band style), underage NYU girls, and obnoxiously rude/slow/ugly servers, you might like this place.
