I've come to rely quite a bit on rateclubs when making decisions about eating out. In the instance of The Local I was let down. To begin with, the service was sub-par (I think there was only 1 waiter who was not interested in our table at all). Secondly, the food was terrible. I got the chicken fingers and a side of hushpuppies...standard. The chicken fingers were ok, but nothing special. The hushpuppies, however, were special for a different reason. They were ridiculously bad...upon sighting the waiter bringing them to the table I was immediately compelled to yell "take those back, please". They were dry, extra small, burnt, and cooked in old tasting oil. My friend got a pulled bbq pork sandwich, which ended up being a vinegary concoction that she had to return to the kitchen. My other two friend were just as unsatisfied with their simple grilled cheese and french fries. Overall, utter waste of time.

Plan your night out before coming to this thing. Be sure to have a checklist of things to do. Write it out, type it out, and then CC an e-mail to all your friends that you will be meeting up there. Make sure everyone prints out the checklist and schedule. And then when you get there, crumple it up, ball it up, throw it at your friend's face, un-crumple it, wipe your ass with it, and then rip it up into little pieces, bring the little pieces into the restroom and throw the newly made confetti into the super high powered hand dryer. Because you aren't going to be doing anything you planned to anyways. Get tanked. Wander around. And make your friends buy you more drinks while you picture whore it up on their digital pocket cameras. Well, that's what I did anyways.

$5 Polk punch a concoction with Vodka and at least two other types of juice, is about the only thing that earns the stars for this joint. No cover on Friday's is worth a half star. How to minus the stars? Let me count the ways. Crowded beyond Fire Marshall capacity with drunk women/men dancing on fragile, shoe print trodden chairs. A DJ spinning CD's?!? Yeah, CD's. And not well, nor recent, nor smooth. Heard of break beats, yo? Constant, second hand smoke wafting in from the conjoined smoking patio. Flying (falling) disco balls. A definite clubbing hazard.
