by Adam S. on This place is great, I hit this spot up on a Saturday night and the following Sunday morning to catch a Manchester United game. Nice chill crowd at night, cheap drink prices and not packed to the T so to speak. Sunday was very low key and a great spot to watch the game. I believe I got 3 beers and a mixer + tip for under $25, I don't know if this is cheap or not for the area, but I was amazed when I paid. Everyone is really nice and I would recommend checking this spot out, it's worth the trip.

The event: Have you ever drank a rum and coke or a vodka cranberry while watching the fish swim at an aquarium? What about drinking a corona while watching the a butterfly pass by in the jungle exhibit? Well this is the place to do it. Science meets hip night life. Thats probably the best way to describe the event. There are DJs with a dance area, bar stations scattered through out and you get to look at all the exhibits. I'm a science guy who like to have a good time with friends over some drinks so this was perfect for me. At some points in the night it felt like being a kid going to the museum for the first time looking at the exhibits. One note if you want to watch the planetarium show, arrive early and get the tickets before you get your drink. Food: Not too much of an option from what I saw. Sandwich, cheese plates, and snack like items such as humus and pita bread. All the food was cold so its more like a snack rather than a dinner. If you come here hungry... trust me, you its not going to be a cheap night. Get a slice of pizza before (we got a slice after..) Drinks: Full service bar stations scattered throughout the building. The event was sponsored by Redbull so there were redbull drinks specials at several booths around the DJ area. The bar stations were so crowded! I suggest getting a drink or two before heading down to the Aquarium area. There's only one bar down there. It was a mad house trying to get a drink. Price: Tickets themselves to the event are not expensive. only $10 for admission and parking was another $10 in the structure under the Academy of Science. Drinks on the other hand were a bit expensive. Food was way overpriced so I'd eat before coming.
by Tiana Dicker on my boyfriend and i stumbled upon this place, and it rocks!! the place is fun and not too crowded. the drinks are strong and not too expensive. i love the little dance floor and i love the music they played. a lot of 90's hits, which i LOVE. there was a good mix of peoplel; i hate when i go to a place and every person looks the same, but at vertigo it wasn't like that. would def go back and bring a bunch of friends to chill and dance.
