by Leandro Heffren on I must start by saying we came to The Bubble Lounge on a tuesday night. It was nearly empty, just the two of us (My boyfriend and I) and two other couples canoodling on the couches. Beautifully decorated, dare I say, swanky. We did not go downstairs, we stayed upstairs in the lounge area. Because it was so empty, we only stayed for one drink each. I had the Bellini, and my boyfriend got some kind of Strawberry Champagne. They were both delicious, but yes, quite cha-ching! Food looked delicious, but we had just eaten, so we didn't bother with that. Service was good, and the place is nice. I would definitely want to go again when it's not so ghost-towny
by Rashad Stolinski on I came here for Dine LA Week and I our experience started off poor and eventually ended on a good note. First, we had to wait for 45 minutes to be seated after our reserved time slot. Next, our table was wobbling in all directions was unstable the entire evening. /Then our waiter didn't come to us for 25 minutes to take our order, However, we told the manager (Jacob Shure) that our evening was a rough start and he completely took care of us. He accomidate our inconvience was served our table. He provided free champaigne and let the group mix-and-match our orders. One person was allowed to order 3 appetizers as their entire meal... which they don't normally do. After Mr. Shure took over, our even was great. He eventually provided the entire group with 5 cocktails on the house and validated our parking. I believe Jacob Shure made the evening worth while. I didn't really write anything about how the food was... because everyone has different taste buds and I'll leave it up to others to tell you.. but I can share with you this, the food quality is what you should expect from a classy place like Mina's.
by Horace N. on From the first time I went here I was hooked. Hooked! This joint is a little grimy, a little sketchy, and it ain't much to look at, but it's not without its ambiance. I feel like the place should be in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn it's so "real hip-hop" (without the Bed-Stuy violence). It's a standard bar (they could use a better beer selection), some cheap peripheral seating, and the rest is all dance floor. Beautiful! The vibe is always hip hop--sometimes outdated--but the ethnic mix is like a Benetton ad. A girl or guy for you no matter your tastes, and I have a lot of tastes (and the ratio is always excellently close to 50-50). It ain't that prettied up Meat Packing or Chelsea crowd, but real hotties with real (non Gossip Girl) style do abound. Be forewarned girls, so do those creepy passive-aggressive dudes who before you know it have slithered up behind you on the dance floor and are air-butt-humping you. Luckily they buckle and cower under the slightest sign of rejection. I close out the night here nearly every single Thursday night (and I've grown to recognize a lot of regular faces). Love it. If you're just looking to drink and dance free of hipster douche bags, testosterone boys, and faux glamor girls, bOb might be the only spot in NYC. It stays real. It stays dope.
