I've only been here maybe 3 times and where the atmosphere is sexy, the food and sometimes the music leaves me with that "its just ok" feeling. This past visit was on a Friday when Ascension (guess that's how they spell it) was the featured act. They seemed to be either a newly formed band, haven't practiced in a while or had substitute members. Their vibe just didn't flow and the singer was ummm, reading lyrics on a number of songs. I love love live music but I just couldn't get into them. On to the actual cafe... I would highly suggest reservations since we walked right in and had a table waiting on us. The waiter was really nice and made great suggestions for drinks. The Pom-tini was very good. I had lukewarm feelings about our Calamari appetizer w/tomato based dipping sauce (ya'll know how I loves me some calamari). I actually left some tentacles on the plate, that's how you know I wasn't feeling it. My entree of Lamb chops were so close to making this a 4-star until realized an obese lamb was sacrificed on my behalf since I had to cut away a 1/3 of fat! It was served over asparagus and some potato-like sticks. After a VERY long day, I was struggling to not nod off on my friend (yes, even in a loud music spot) , so I order a latte. And the band played on.....and on.....and on....still no latte. When we finally stopped the waiter (he had a large section of tables but he worked it as well as he could) he informed us that the cappuccino machine hadn't been turned on, but they were on it. And the band played on....and on....you get my drift. Never got my latte, and after reassuring me someone in the back was royally chewed out, we were comped a dessert so that was nice.

Not a bad place to go on a Saturday. The place is hidden in the back, just a short walk away from the main street. The crowd was good by the time we got there around midnight, and there was no line at the time. Inside, there was a good mix of people, but a good amount of asians. I am not sure how other nights go though. The entrance to the venue was up a few flights of stairs to a nice patio area to sit, drink and relax in the nice weather. Walk a little deeper in, you enter the building with lounge seating and a dance floor followed by (I'm guessing) VIP seating which over looks the dance floor. Ambiance was good and had a nice cool atmosphere. The dj was good and picked a nice set of hits if you are looking to get your groove on for sure, though I will say the dance floor is a bit too cramp and crowded. I think I was dancing with like 3 random people at any one time. But it was a fun night regardless, lots of booty shaking and getting down. Towards the end of the night, it clears out a bit to really let you bring your dance moves out. Also, they have a elevated stage area by the dance floor too for go-go dancers and girls who are too drunk to care hah. Drinks were decent, priced as you would expect, at least 10 a pop. It doesn't hurt to pregrame at all. Drinks I would say is a bit on the weak side, so it might take a good bit to get your buzz going. Cover was 20 for us guys, and for this venue, I would err on the side to say it wasn't worth it since you have so many other locations near by to choose from. Not sure how promoters work for this place, but if you get that and are looking for a place with good outdoor scenery and lots of indoor seating (provided you get there early enough), this might be a go for you.

I'm not sure how this place got so many good reviews. I went on a weekend with some friends - it was tiny, packed so tight I could barely move, smelly, sweaty, and just gross. It was so dark in there too. It seemed like an environment ripe for gropers. It was so uncomfortable that my party had to leave after 10 minutes, even after we paid the cover charge. Had I needed to pay more to get out of there faster, I would have.
