We sat on the second floor, which was packed, and watched her climb up and down stairs to deal with her tables all over. She did a great job and never made us feel rushed, and her recommendations were great. As part of my criteria for five-stars..."best ever status." The she-crap soup did it for me. The scallops with bacon were also delicious, and my duck confit was perfectly cooked. The grouper was good, but not incredible. I have to highly recommend the cheesecake-bread pudding. All in all, the pricing wasn't bad, but this was a special occasion. They didn't even offer us a regular menu, so I can't speak to that. But I would recomend South City to anyone visiting ATL.
by Rob G. on I came here for Om & Get Physical Records' recent party w/ DJ T and I was really impressed with this venue. Although it has an industrial, loft-like feel, it seemed clean and well designed. The location of the DJ booth, the visuals' placement, and the sound were great. In terms of convenience, I also loved the super high ceilings which seemed to wick off some of the "club heat", the ample street parking, & the great mirrors in the womens' restrooms. I would definitely come here again, although next time I'll bring more cash since they don't take credit cards.
by Dasha V. on MANGOS!! Was off the hook. We went there on our last night, and I had a blast. Good music, awesome drink menu and with hot men & sexy waitresses walking around. Really fun and chill vibe, live band, no cover on Monday night. Some lawyer from Mexico City kept sending drinks to my table, later we salsa danced a bit. The dance floor could be a little bigger but then again the place was packed. Hung out for about an hour, before escaping to the Cleavlander.
by Angelo Jagow on This venue is awesome! And I say venue because its the setting rather than Medjool itself that I loved. Breathtaking 360 degree views of San Francisco, including the skyline and Bay Bridge, from their outdoor rooftop deck - such an incredible rarity in San Francisco bar and restaurant world! Your jaw will just drop when you experience this space. I will certainly be back, but probably during the daytime or on a weeknight when it would be less crowded. The place loses a star for allowing my bliss to be disrupted by the tons of snotty leopard-skin jacketed Marina bizzels (and I mean literally tons: if you take 100 bizzels and multiply by their average weight of 75 pounds a piece) out colonizing yet more Mission territory. I have still to try the food or spend time on the main floor. Update: ok, its a few months later and I'm a grizzled, jaded ratecluber now. Was at the rooftop tonight and it smelled like greasy fried ground beef all night. That is not the aroma I need on Friday night.
