I'm no wine expert, and these days I base my order on the fact that I get splitting headaches from red wines. But I learned an adjective or two from a trip to Sonoma Valley, so I can tell you that the Argentine Malbec that Blush sells by the glass is really buttery! Perhaps more importantly, the bread here is really delicious and the cheese and savory platters are pretty satisfying. Combined with the extensive drink list, that makes Blush my standby for a low-key girls' night out. But don't forget to sit at the bar, since that's the only way to really get the staff's attention for the check. Random note: the rotating art on the walls sounds like a good idea, but sometimes I kind of hate what they're showcasing.

Three of my girls and I shared... Appetizers: Kobe beef carpaccio - super thin slices of beef with this yummy sauce drizzled on top. Melt in your mouth goodness. Seared day boat scallops - sooo good and they we're cooked perfectly! Only 4 scallops, darn. Short rib potstickers - like any other traditional potsticker but with more of a kick! Garlic naan - good dipped in their complementary sauce but not so good on their own. they we're a little burnt so bleh. Entrees: Organic tandori chicken - I've had better tandori chicken at Indian places but this chicken wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Braised lamb shank - at first I was a little hesitant to try lamb because I don't usually get down with that gamey taste but this was f'in delicious. Fall off the bone meat and the black scary looking rice was good too. Pan roasted sea bass - I absolutely love fish and this by far way my favorite thing I've tried. The fish was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I love how the bed of noodles complemented the fish. This dish alone is worth the drive for sureeee. Dessert: Peach tart - pretty bland for my taste Gelato sampler - 5 tiny scoops of different flavored gelato such as: thai ice tea, mexican chocolate, tamarind, peach, and i forget the last one. I was pretty buzzed by the time dessert came hah. Sounds good right? But really it's not so don't bother. The only one that was ok was the thai ice tea. By the time we were finishing up our dessert the employees we're setting up for the club. Several people kept walking by our table back and forth hovering waiting for us to pay which irritated me a little but I'm over it. The manager was nice enough to give us free drink tickets each for well drinks (yuck) If you are going to eat here make sure you come at least by 8 because you don't want to be rushed in the end. Come here for appetizers and entrees but skip the desserts. Drinks are pretty saucy here too which is nice. THE END.

I once tried to send a text message to my friend about Tequila Rain and the predictive text thought I meant Tequila Pain. Which really is so fitting. I find it funny that people consider this a nightclub. Hahahahaha....not if you are 22 or older. I would never in a million years come here for the nightclub but I have met large groups of people there before Sox games because its big and easy to find. At that point its just a bar. I used to have a friend that waitressed here so I've also been for lunch, at which point its just a bar that serves food. But you go at night and suddenly its just one giant, cheesy, sweaty, fraternity party. Remember what it felt like when you first turned 21 and could go out? You didn't know what was good or bad you just knew you could legally drink. That is the crowd at Tequila Pain. The fact that its so close to both Northeastern and BU adds to the mess. Really, any bar that has slushy machines of premixed drinks should give you pause. ... (Fat Tuesday in Philly, I'm looking at you....)...the pre-mixed slushy drinks, while tasty, have practically 0 alcohol. You get brain freeze quicker and more often than you get drunk. The crowd is young, obnoxious, and fashionably challenged. Tequila Rain definitely has something up its ass...when you go in before the Sox game, decked out in your Sox gear, blow $50 on drinks, then try to get back in after the Sox game to find out there is now a dress code. I would say that the only reason to ever go there is pre-Sox game if you want to avoid the huge crowds and you don't mind paying a lot for drinks. Or to watch the game or any other sporting event because they have huge screens. Otherwise, there's no reason to go.
