Bliss Bar and Lounge - About Us

by Lisa M. on So apparently Bubble Lounge is actually a champagne place...? I never heard that, I came here because my friend recommended it and said she'd be here the same night as me, so we decided to meet up. Plus, the place was only a short walk from where we had dinner, so it all worked out rather perfectly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that there was no cover. It was really laid-back here, and while some people were definitely dressed down, there were a lot of other people who were dressed up. We happened to be dressed up, but hey, it was to celebrate my birthday so of COURSE we'd dress up! The bar upstairs was really swanky with nice tables (that you'd have to reserve of course), and downstairs was like a cave. You Rateclubers don't exaggerate. It was dark, musky, hot, sweaty, stinky, loud, a total 180 from the scene going on upstairs. We came early before it was crowded so we got a comfy couch downstairs and chilled for a while. Pretty fun to people watch. Clubbing and bars are so different in norcal than socal, but we had a lot of fun. Definitely laid-back, but drinks were Hollywood prices... kinda whack. After we ventured upstairs after a couple hours, it was pretty packed and there was a line outside when we left. I guess the place is poppin!
by Gudrun Rossel on Love this place. Friendly staff. Stylish, intimate design. Yummy, well-priced, consistent food. Good music. Purse hooks under the bar. Parking. I've had nearly everything on the menu, but I come back for: duck pizza (surprisingly good), duck pasta, ginger miso tofu (I rarely eat tofu anywhere, so extra credit there), lamb skewers, mixed greens with figs and lavender dressing, mac n cheese, ... seriously, everything is good as far as I can tell. Don't miss the truffles and don't be afraid to let the bartender make you a surprise drink if you're feeling adventurous.
by cindy w. on Space is the the nightclub for serious club kids and those who take electronic music to heart. In a huuuuuge warehouse venue in downtown, Space has seperate areas for 2 types of music: electronica on the main floor and the upstairs terrace for the hip-hop/dancehall/reggaeton crowd. As far as its reputation goes, the main floor has a serious sound-system, you know when you walk by the speakers, and your entire body vibrates with the sound? Awesomeness. Just be aware that if you show up before 1AM, this place is nearly empty. Now, let me outline the reasons why I like this place: 1. It's not a meat market environment. Guys and girls can dance, however, they want, and nobody's gonna try to put the grind on you. Plus, people give you room to dance here. 2. It's probably the closest thing to Ibiza you'll get in Miami. 3. Big names, acts...it seems like Paul Van Dyk drops by here a few times a year and fuhgettabout what its like during the Winter Music Conference. 4. Diverse crowds...you got your Eurotrash, your New York club kids, your Miami locals, and other tourists in the mix.
