As an Atlanta native, apparently I've taken the ability to get fondue in a pirate ship surrounded by alligators for granted. As such, I hadn't been to Dante's in 10+ years, since my high school days of gorging on their chocolate fondue for so-and-so's big birthday celebration. So when I found myself across the street at Lenox with an out of towner, it seemed like a perfect fit. The schtick is legitimate. The pirate ship, the dirty moat, the flickering "tavern" lights, the fake people chilling on far out balconies. It's a little bit like Disney World, except dustier. And just as expensive. They smartly charge per person for most of their fondue dinners, and as we were coming in for just a little snack that made things a bit tricky. We settled on the cheese appetizer and an artichoke to start. The cheese fondue was indeed delicious and I am a HUGE fan of the dark wheat bread they served: it totally reminded me of my childhood when it was the only wheat bread option back in the days before multigrain was hip. The artichoke was pretty basic, and not a very good artichoke, especially for the $10.50 price tag. I mean, they steamed an artichoke and melted some butter: not rocket science here, people. I was really bummed about the chocolate fondue. I know theirs is super special and you have to order it days in advance, but I honestly wish they had a less-classy option. I am not a planner in that kind of way, and when I'm craving chocolate I want it, right then and there. No 48 hour notice. Luckily the chocolate cake was pretty tasty and served warm: a nice touch. But yeah, not chocolate fondue by any means. Our server was a lot of fun and on the ball, and you really can't beat the tricked-out atmosphere of this place. So yeah, alligators, I'll probably be seeing you sooner rather than later. I promise to never take you for granted again.

I have only been here once about 2 weeks ago after several failed attempts to get in. we ran into the "oh your not on the list, i can not find you, although they could find at least one person in our group" More often then not the place is really expensive but the inside is really nice. I would say it was one of the nicest places inside but we just meshed in with the regular crowd. coming here for a rockin DJ or group and having VIP would be the way to go. so we finally did get in after getting tickets for the spundae 16th year with Armin and that was rockin. it was a Tuesday so we did not stay too long or drink too much but we had a good time. The drinks were pricy which i am not surprised but the place overall was not too packed which was nice. I hate it when a club packs the place so tight that it really is uncomfortable and you just angry or other douche bags or dumb B@#$$s are just causing trouble. i will be back but probably only when a good act is playing here.

Went to Minna last night and had a pretty good time. It's a little too loud to talk, but overall I liked the crowd. It was like a symbiotic relation with people from all neighborhoods of the city. Good fun for a Wednesday night. Would definitely go back to check the place out again. Oh, and the art is pretty cool too... almost forgot.
