After reading some of the other reviews, let me start off by saying how absurd I think it is to rate this place on it's food quality. Any person of even average intelligence can observe it's a COMEDY CLUB first, bar second, place for celebrity gawking and elbow rubbing third and restaurant last. C'mon people...the food is probably there purely to satisfy a legal responsiblity to have it available to thier patrons while serving them large quantities of booze, which we all know generally goes hand in hand with attending any nightclub. To my knowledge the Improv has never been marketed as a great place to dine. Now having said all that, the food is really not all that bad considering. Get something benign like salad or a burger, shut the hell up and get your drink and your laugh on like you're supposed to. This is by far one of my favorite places to go of all time in the way of entertainment. We always go to the later show (raunchier and sometimes more well known acts play at this time) and if you can hang with the not so perfect cuisine, diners get priority front row seating to the show and occassionally the thrill of having a celebrity eating at the table next to you. Last time my bf and I went were elbow to elbow with Jim Gaffigan and talked to him and everything. Fun times I tell you. The best part is hanging out at the teeny tiny bar after the show lets out and hob nobbing with all the comdians you just saw perform. Couple tips: 1) Valet park 2) Get on the mailing list through the website. They email out packs of 4 free tix ALL THE TIME and all you have to do is claim them. In fact, I don't recall the last time I paid for a show there. Not that the tix are expensive (just a few bucks more than a movie for Christ's sake) but with the price of dinner and drinks it you can drop some cash so any break on that is nice these days.

House has never been deeper nor sexier. My new sanctuary and home. *My third time reviewing this place...pity I can't give it 10 stars. Feature request....?

If you're looking for an ultra chic, ultra sleek, ultra lounge, try elsewhere. But if you're looking for a large, yet strangely cozy venue, Cocomo's Caf definitely fits the bill. I've been here twice, once for salsa, once for reggaeton, and both times I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. A diverse and positive crowd frequents the venue and unlike most large places in the city, the staff actually seemed to be in a good mood. I'd imagine patio during the summer time is the place to be.
