This place simultaneously gives me the LOLz & the gas-face (aka stank-face), or in other words the laughing-gas-face. It's not as fun as it sounds, much more like a disapproving chuckle as I survey the scene and make my way amongst the crowds of e-tards zoning out and "dancing" to the "rhythm" wondering why I'm here in the first place. They can't serve alcohol after hours, I don't experiment with mind altering chemical substances, and bottled water runs like $10 a pop. Then I remember I was dragged here by my friend who likes techno. Note to self: get friends with better musical tastes. Since he paid my cover the two times I've come here, I do my best to be a trooper, but after an hour of having redundant electronic sounds drilled into my brain and nearing the point of my head exploding I'm tapped out, head home, and leave him on his own to party into the wee hours of the morning, returning to pick him up after sunrise. Thankfully, for both our sakes, he's learned not to drag me here anymore.

I just finished dinner here. Service was good. Per the other rateclubs user reviews I ordered the steak frites with blue cheese. It was okay. I have been spoiled lately with very high quality steaks though.... We ordered the lamb ribs appetizer. I thought that this was quite tasty. If you are not too hungry I think this is the right portion size for your meal. At $10 it's not too hard on the wallet either. I felt that the food was a bit salty. It was still edible but perhaps they could cut down on how much salt they use in their marinades... We shared the kit kat dessert bar that is served with curry ice cream and peanut butter sorbet. We ordered it because we were curious about the curry ice cream. The curry ice cream was a hit and the kit kat bar was pretty good too. Stay away from the first dessert wine (the one that is $3/half glass). I think it was a Moscato... It has a really bad aftertaste. Would I return? Perhaps for the lamb appetizer as my meal and to get sloshed with the bottomless wine option.

I stumbled into 222 Hyde for the first time on Friday night, and I have to say it was pretty fun. Warning, it was a super super hipster crowd. Mind you, I am not a hipster, but sometimes they are fun to watch, and by golly, they sure were on Friday. Like, it was so hipster that there were two guys wearing the same outfit, of riding pants, suspenders, and mullets. But it was great people watching (There was also a glittered, spandexed, and blond wigged tranny complete with full beard), $2 PBR, and Bloc Party Remixes. I liked dancing in the basement in the back, it reminded me of the east coast for whatever reason. It's totally in the ghetto, and you can't smoke a cigarette (not that I do) without getting harassed 15 times, but all in all it was good times.
