by David W. on I don't know if it was just an off night or what, but I left totally unimpressed. The crowd was like a bad horror movie or 80's flick and the service was terrible. The wine was good but that didn't make up for the wait or the fact that the waiter seemed to want nothing to do with us.
by Rocco B. on I should have known that this was one of THOSE kind of bars when a bunch of theater people invited me for some drinks at this great place on the outskirts of the Castro. Regardless, I had an excellent time. Martuni's must have a gigantic bathtub in the back to distill all the gin they serve. Otherwise, it wouldn't be economical to give you such a hefty helping in their GIGANTIC six dollar martinis. One of the best deals in the city, and I didn't even go blind. While there I did get "spoken to" for conversing with my buddy while a drag queen opera singer was yodeling a tune. 5 gin-induced stars.
