What can i say about this place...Opera is a cool lil spot. I liked the atmosphere, the inside looked really nice and sophisticated. the music was alright, they need to play more of the rnb and hip hop music. the crowd was alright..We went here last night 11/1/08, got there at 1145, got in within 2 minutes only because we knew the owner, the bouncers and the promoters. If you dont know anyone at this club, expect to wait for a very long time. They sometimes pick people out of the crowd to go in. Next time you guys come, make sure you have some fly females, dressin all skimpy or you aint gettin in. No matter how much money you got to pay the bouncers, they will not take it. unlike other clubs. drink prices were reasonable. Pros: cool spot, cool vibe and definitely a nice place to chill and have a good time. Cons: Parking is a bitch. expect to pay 20 and up for parking.

OK first off, I think the proprietors of this restaurant will be happy I waited till the second time I went here to write the review. The first time I went, I was in a large group and we swamped the one poor waitress that we had assigned to all of us. Drinks weren't delivered, food was brought at random times to random spots on the table. etc. This time, I was in a much smaller group and it was better. The chicken samosas are really good (I have vegetarian friends who were telling me I had to eat them so they definitely have a reputation). The pork was very spicy, like I would expect from an Indian/Thai restaurant. My mouth was stinging afterwords, but in this cuisine that's a good thing. It is definitely a fashionable spot, I've seen B & C list celebrities there each time I've been. It's a simple no brainer for the date scene, with the bar downstairs and Whiskey Park upstairs, It also has enough to satisfy both carnivores and vegetarians, (though a warned a lot of their dishes are prepared with chicken base) Overall its a "status" place, more Vegas-y than ATL, but you could do worse

For a few years now, one of my best girlies has been trying to get me to go to Bordello. I would nod and brush her off. Why didn't I listen to her? This is my kind of place! I love, love, love the interior. Very classy whorehouse. Yay. Sure, it's a bit hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. Fortunately, I grew up in NE LA so once I was heading east on 1st, I knew I'd be too far if I went over the bridge. I busted a left as soon as I thought it was legal and parked. There was plenty of street parking at just before 7 p.m. The bouncer welcomed me in. The bartenders made stiff drinks. The music before the band started was great-- not my fave stuff but good for a crowd. A little Justin Timberlake, Beasties Boys, even our dear Britney Spears and other current dance-able tunes. The only almost-bad thing was the sign for the ladies' room needs to be on the door rather than on the side wall. I couldn't find it and interrupted a couple about to make out to ask them where it was. Sorry guys! A fun time was had by all!
