I ate here twice within one week period of time. The reason being: I was on company's expense account. Score! Gotta milk that baby... ;) Honestly I expected a lot from Morimoto. But they didn't quite deliver and for that they don't deserve 5 stars. I tried: ichi-yaki-bap, maguro sushi, soft shell crab roll, and morimoto ramen. The ichi-yaki-bap was not bad, but I was really missing the hot pepper paste common on bibimbaps. Boo! The nigiri sushi and maki are pretty good. I do have to give props for the quality of sushi here. The fish is fresh and even the rice is polished in house, how crazy is that?! The soft shell crab maki was delicious but I think the chef didn't pack it tight enough because it kept crumbling on me. Like a doomed relationship, it was hard to keep it together... The morimoto ramen was not too bad. I think it would make a perfect meal for anyone having a bout of cold or flu. It's pretty plain: just noodles, chunks of chicken, and a few shreds of scallions. The broth was flavorful and there's a thin layer of fat floating on top. I think this is the traditional ramen trademark. But really, it didn't wow me. I've had better ramen in the Bay Area. And when I think of ramen I really think of big steaming bowls of noodles. This was too chi-chi-frou-frou. Bottom line is: this is a great place to see and be seen. Not bad either if you want to entertain business clients. But overall, I think it's too overpriced for the food they serve.

Cielo is my favorittttteee club in the city. I know that the crowd isn't always great and that the cover is annoying, but the music always ensures a good night of dancing for me. I've been on a night where the crowd has been beautiful, and the music just perfect (thank you Nicolas Matar). I've also been on another night where the crowd was hit-or-miss...but the music still good of course. I really feel like the people who come to Cielo come for the music, and I think that definitely helps weed out the creeps that you encounter at other places. I mean, this place has a legendary dj roster (Benny Benassi, anyone?)...so really, it's the place to come for house music. Also, the bouncer from Jamaica is a cool guy and comps you if he remembers you.

I really like the vibe of this place. I recently spent the past Sunday watching football here for over seven hours. I had a blast speaking with the bartenders and other patrons. Good selection of beers, the food is decent and reasonably priced. Someone needs to tell me what the dipping sauce is that comes with the fries because I can't get enough of it. If I could fill my bathtub with this sauce and throw a bunch of different food items in there I would be in heaven.
