This place was a bust. Parking is so bad by Hollywood and Vine, that we chose to take a cab there, which was a solid $30 round trip from West Hollywood. It was $10 to get in, which is irritating (it's a Thursday night, afterall), but it's Hollywood, so not surprising. What was very annoying is that we purchased tickets online to avoid the lines (as the website suggests), then had to wait in line to pick them up anyway. And the kid at the front of the line taking people's money didn't know how to handle pre-purchased tickets so sent us to another line to ask the assistant manager, who informed us that we had to go into another line with the 'girl with the clipboard' to pick them up. Took us a lot longer to track down the tickets than it would have taken us to pay the $20 and walk in. Bad customer service, that. We get inside and the venue is nice. It's big, it's open. Reminds me of Ruby Skye in my beloved San Francisco. Except... as I look around... at the crowd. WOW. Okay, I knew it was 18+ night on Thursdays, and that was fine with me; I've been to other 18+ nights and it felt like a third 18-21, a third 21-25, and a third 25+. No big deal. Except that at Tigerheat is was more like 90% 18-21, 5% 21-25, and 5% 25+. I was looking around for the host of "To Catch a Predator". Kept making jokes to my friend about crashing my nephew's birthday party. They were just... kids. Dancing and getting wild with their girl friends. Which is great for them, wish I had something like that when I was 18. But not so much fun for me. We left after half an hour, after realizing that the drinks were hella overpriced on top of everything else. Took a cab back to West Hollywood, and breathed a sigh of relief to have returned to the adult playground and leave the Trix for the kids...

Visited SF recently and wanted to check this place out based on good Rateclub reviews.  It was really pretty cool. The food is amazing.  Everyone recommends the coffee crusted pork and I now understand why.  It would have been a geat date place if I had been there with a date because the dining style is fairly intimate.  It worked out perfectly to share an entree and a couple of sides (not to mention a carafe of wine) between two of us. We were there for Jazz Mafia Tuesday and the music was great.  We got up and danced but sadly, no one joined us.  But then again, no one seemed to mind, either- I think the band was happy about it, though. If I were on a date with a guy in SF, I would be impressed if he brought me here.  It's a great mixture of upscale dining with freeform music with an underground "not-everybody-knows-we're-here-yet" vibe.  Next time I'm around, I'd like to come back.

Me: "Can I get 2 Absolute Redbull?" *thinking cheaper vodka won't hurt the wallet so bad. bartender: "it's 36 dollars hun" Me: *hearing 16 and thinking not too bad* hands a $20 bartender: *waiting Me: "I'm sorry..how much did you say?" bartender: "it's 36" Me: *almost choked when I heard that - hands her another $20. I bartended here in dallas for 4 years! I was okay with $20 martini's while in nyc. Oh yeah..drink was VERY weak too. i was sooo sober the rest of the night =( Went on a Friday night around midnight - lucky for us all 8 of us got in without a problem *tht's from knowing someone* Scene was pretty slow....and didn't hang out long enough to see what kinda place this was.
