by Coy Bosquez on Yoshi's has great atmosphere, food and service. They have a parking lot that is connected right up to where the entrance is. Service was above and beyond what I expected. Our server was very nice and she checked back on us frequently to make sure everything was ok. Knowledgable when it came to the food and gave us some really good recommendations. We had Mizuna Salad- it's a little twist on the Caesar Salad with some mizuna thrown in. Refreshing. I really liked this one. Wagyu Sashimi- oh shmoley.....melt in your mouth goodness. THIS was definitely one of the highlights. Came with an amazing uni-shoyu sauce for dipping. CHEW slowly so you can let the marbled fat melt in your mouth. Sashimi- SUPER fresh. Can't complain Gindara (Miso Black Cod)- Sorry, but this was a let down. The cod was a little on the dry side, and the marinating wasn't done long enough. I've had better Buri Kama- Oh...my beloved Hamachi collar. Sorry, but this yet AGAIN wasn't that great either. WHY woluld you ruin a totally perfect piece of fish with some gross marinade? Totally deprived the fish for what it was. Japanese style is always either left alone or a dash of salt. Bummer Mochi Ice cream- Meh..... Chocolate Mousse Cake- now THIS was really good. I watched in envy after I had a piece. Get this one if it's on the menu.
by Teny G. on I've been to Opera on a Saturday and Thursday night, both times were fun. Didn't have a problem getting in either time because the first time we had a table and the second time we were 3 girls and 2 guys and the bouncer looks at me and goes only guys pay cover and we got right in. I honestly don't like how they remodeled the place..what happened to the fur walls? it got worse and on thursday the crowd wasn't so "good looking" and many minorities if you ask me...worth checking out because of all the hype.
by Salvatore R. on I went to the Abbey Tavern on Saturday at about noon to watch the UFC which was being televised live from England. It was a 15 dollar cover charge which is far cheaper then what Jillian charges for the same event (25) and insofar as the drinks at 12 in the afternoon all I had was soda. That was about 2 dollars... They were really cool about allowing the pizzeria next door deliver a pizza to us in the backroom so as far as being accomadating they were awesome. I know its not often that someone is going to be going to Abbey Tavern at noon and perhaps this review isnt very helpful but if you ever find yourself there to watch some kind of an afternoon event its not super packed and the bartender will accomodate pretty much anything. Especially if by anything you mean having a pizza delivered from next door
