by P-ta t. on I had my B-Day party here. I choose this place primarily because of the location and ambiance and also many of the people I went with had not been. VERDICT: food was so-so , drinks ,so-so. I was surprised how empty the place was for a Thursday night. Our group stayed long after diner in the hopes that it would get poppin but it never did . My RECOMMENDATION- good starter to begin a fun night.

The grungy, super fab, international hipsters were out in force at this tiny lil' dive bar, and at first I couldn't figure out what that overwhelming salty smell in the air was. Pushing through the mighty crowd, folks was holding plastic plates high above their heads, and all I could see were great bread slices slumping over them. Then, while getting some air with the sweetest bouncer this side of the Mississippi, a gaggle of downhome yuppies invited me to grub on some pork. They're all, "Have ya tried the PIG??" EAT the PIG!! So I shoved myself through the wall of hipsters once again to find the owner of that overwhelming smell--a whole roasted pig lay on top of the counter, and people were diggin' in. EAT the PIG! Everyone chanted! So friendly! So warm! So smelly! :) I finally screeched, "It's against my religion! I'm Jewish!" Of course I love me some bacon, but it was all a little much at midnight on a Saturday. You know? That wasn't the meat I was after. Ha! But seriously, a sweet, friendly place. Just a tad salty and crowded for me, and forget about parking... Hey, how was the pig?
