saturday nights at the avalon are....interesting. the music can be good if you know the type of music the DJ is spinning in advance. saturdays are usually house/trance nights so be prepared. some tips on how to properly enjoy your night: 1. bring stunna shades if you're lookin to do the washing machine dance with old asian men (or women) 2. bring ample cash for refreshments (cash not credit card as you may lose it at the end of the night) 3. wear loose comfortable clothing and sneakers...leave the urge to dress to impress at home. u won't be judged on your looks here...if anything you'll be hugged...repeatedly. 4. sweatband. it gets hot. you will sweat. 5. the lightshows are on stage, not in the back corner. leave the glowsticks at home. 6. remember who your friends are. stick with them. do not give in to creepy men who try to seduce you with their sweet dance moves those tips should get you through a night at the avalon. you'll know that it was a good night when you can't go to sleep and instead find yourself rateclubsing about the experience at 6:35am.

Vguard is one of my favorite hot spots in LALALAND! The sound system, decor, artwork, bartenders, staff, managers, owners, security, the dj line ups...sick! I always have a sweet time at GIANT & DEEP. Marques Wyatt has done a fantastic job in keeping house music all night long, Deep. This is truly a dynamic club that everyone should experience. I love Vanguard!

I hadn't been here before this past weekend, although I've known about it for a long time. Drinks were cheap, which was refreshing because usually my binge costs me a lot of $. 222 Hyde is underground (as in you have to go down stairs to enter), so I guess the Cellar is NOT SF's only subterranean nightclub. House is my favorite type of music, and I was happy to say that the DJ was really laying it down, it never takes me a lot to get on the floor, but it does take really good music to make me excited and bust out the good moves. The music wasn't as loud as I like it, but I couldn't really have conversations with my friends, so it was loud enough- thank god!
