Sasha D. mentioning Mood must be out of her mind, that place is all hype and absolutely nothing special (maybe i've gone on the wrong nights?). Anyone looking to get the best experience out of the Vanguard should go on SATURDAY (This is extremely important, as it is hosted by Giant, who offers a steady stream of the best house and electronic music DJ's in the world). Also, the 'better' (more famous) the DJ the more expensive the tickets get, so buy them when they are released on the website as they almost always start at $10 a pop. Finally, drink up before you get in, it's Hollywood so you should KNOW what to expect! Pros: 1) AMAZING AMAZING sound system! 2) The greatest and most well-known DJ's in the world play here! 3) Gigantic main dance floor! 4) Beautiful people! 5) Great mix of typical Hollywood crowd, house/electro junkies and people who just want to go see a famous DJ. 6) HUGE outdoor area to cool down after a long night of dancing. 7) Mutliple dance floors with a Hip-hop area for the house haters. 8) Close FREE parking (if you know where to find it :D) Neutral: 1) Average Bartenders Cons: 1) Expensive drinks (It's Hollywood so this should be a given, c'mon people!!)
by Shani Waddell on It was okay. Very hipster (felt like good ol' SF), overpriced drinks, and a pretty high minimum to use a card if you're just going for a concert and a cocktail ($20). If my friend plays here again, I'll definitely go - but do my drinking elsewhere.
by Jennifer S. on Ooh. Sexy Girlfriend! Cat Club is one of my favorite places to go dancing in the city. Thursday is 80s night! Rad 80s music all night. $6 cover charge and $1 drinks from 9-10pm!!! Two bars, friendly bartenders, cheap coat check, stage, cage, two dance floors...what more can you ask for? The crowd is super cool. Everyone is there to dance and have a good time. I've never had to worry about creepy guys picking up on me there. It closes at 3am and outside you can grub on a bombass hotdog wrapped in bacon. Yum.
