by Akiko Y. on I would recommend going there just for drinks to check the place out, don't even bother with dinner, its not worth it AT ALL. Our bill was $1200 for 5 people and keep in mind we brought our own wine. (corkage was only $25 so that didn't effect the bill that much) I don't mind expensive meals but if we pay that much money I better be walking out of there fully satisfied with the meal. The only flavorful item we had was the caviar dish. Everything else was bland and nothing special whatsoever. The upside, staff was super friendly and the drink I had before dinner was tasty but that's about it.
by Doreatha Nordin on I came here for a birthday party a little while ago. Standard fare....always a line, "friendly and courteous" staff. Thorough handshakes with my privates at the door. At least there wasn't a mandatory coat check. Phew. Overpriced drinks...but wake up people...when was the last time you went to a club and said "wow that was reasonably priced!"? The only distinguishing feature was the divide inside the club. On one side a Latin room (where people can attempt to recreate their own version of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights) which plays all of your favorite FM radio reggaeton, salsa, etc. And on the other side, your Hip-Hop club scene a.k.a. step-on-someone's-shoe-and-you-die motif. Again, standard fare. The latin room is much roomier probably due to the fact that Latin dancing consists of more than two-stepping and booty popping. If you're bothered at all about any of the things I've mentioned, why even go to a club? Lose your mind and dance, I say. Most clubs in the city are exactly like this one. Unless your rich...then replace the danger element with a snobby "my daddy will sue you" element. And replace the overpriced drinks with overpriced bottles. ........Strata? Oh right. The "birthday table" was...well who the hell knows....getting to it looked like the Normandy Beach invasion. Also a friend of mine got their stuff stolen here. Thumbs down. Cheers!
by Mike C. on I've never read reviews so accurate before coming to a club than I have here. I mean, seriously, what is with that DJ. The line outside was long, but its a club, and it was in the 11oclock hour. The cover was 10. This can be expected at swanky places, but for that cover in this neighborhood, it needs to be a great DJ or something like that. Two dance floors, with the one in the back having house, and the one in the front being more hip hop top 40. The back DJ had a scratched record which took him a minute to realize and two minutes to fix. The front guy, DJ Ian D, wouldn't shut his fucking mouth. I know DJ's read their own reviews, and I try not to be personal. But this was ridiculous. In his defense, he played good tracks, but then ruined them with that microphone. Ian D: I know you are employed and happy and what you do works for you, but take it from me(and everybody else on this site apparently), we pay you to play the music. If you want to talk, go see a therapist. Drink prices are reasonable, venue is clean, staff does a decent job. Dress code is enforced but not strictly. Watching dude bras get bounced for wearing flip flops to a nightclub made me smile. When bartenders wear corsets and show their money makers it makes me feel like I'm at a strip club, which is bad, but I don't blame her pesonally, shes just trying to make tips and pay the bills. Three stars.
