Morimoto was a little hard to find and we were surprised the cab driver didn't know what we were talking about. Anyhow, we found it, and the decor is beautiful. While waiting for our table, we had drinks in the upstairs bar that overlooks the downstairs dining room. The lychee martini is to die for. I usually don't do fruity drinks, but this one was perfectly mixed. We both enjoyed the Chef's Choice Omasake Menu. It was about 10 courses if I remember. It was expensive, but worth every penny. It included oysters, scallops, sushi, lobster tail, kobe beef, and many more. The sushi was top grade and melted in my mouth. I tend not to eat scallops, but the scallops here were so fresh and had a nice crunch to it. I am not sure if I would come here to have a regular menu item, but defiantly come for sushi and the tasting menu again since it changes frequently. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday!

S - Super cool and attentive waitress (Alexis) - ask for her when you go! S - Small space, so I wouldn't go on a weekend. Week nights are good though. T - The atmosphere is nice. There are black and white photos of local Philly artists (Musiq, Kindred, Jaguar Wright, Jazmine Sullivan, etc.) on the walls. O - Oh my goodness, that tea is GOOD! O - Our orders came out piping hot...I even burned my tongue. Totally my fault, though. T- The waitress and I had a discussion about hot sauce. In case you're interested, they use Crystal. S - Super cute take-home bags. I - I tried my friend's ribs, they were yummy! E - Everything was tasty! S - So yeah, I'll definitely go back - but not on a weekend. Seriously though, I'd been wanting to go to Miss Tootsie's for a while, but I just hadn't gotten around to going. I'm not gonna lie, this place is tiny, but now that you know it's small, you shouldn't be surprised. The food was tasty, but not quite seasoned enough for my taste. To be fair though, it is the week after Thanksgiving, and I've been eating my Mom's cooking for the past week. Regardless of where you go, no soul food restaurant is gonna match Grandma's or Mom's cooking, but this place is good, and I'll definitely go back. * So technically this isn't an ode....so what...shut up! ;-)
by Matt S. on Tough to hate on Final Final, which is the Screaming Ninjas (Thursday Night Rec League Volleyball Co-Ed Regular Season Champions) preferred post-win watering hole. I love the bartender, who insults patrons under his breath if you don't say please or thank you. My kind of guy!
