by Kenny L. on After landing at PHL but before trekking south on I-95 to Washington, DC we decided to be total tourists and go sample the local cuisine. So a trip to Geno and Pat's it shall be. Driving down Passyunk Avenue, Geno's caught our eye from many blocks away. It was like a slice of Vegas plopped into Philadelphia. So here is part one of two our Geno and Pat's experiment: Control: One cheesesteak, with onions and cheese whiz. Bread: It sucks; it was cold and stale. I didn't know how spoiled I was in California when it comes to bread. Meat: Cooked well done and was quite consistent. Cheese: Dude, it's cheese whiz. Miscellaneous: I think I lost liberal points by patronizing this business. I think this is the first time I've seen anti-Mumia stuff (but then I do live a stone's throw away from Berkeley) and I kindly greeted with a bumper sticker to tell me learn English because I'm in America. I wonder if the original Geno's parents spoke good English.
by cyn w. on For a ridiculous markup plus mandatory 18% for groups large than 6, the service nor the champagne was very good. The waitress opened a bottle of champagne and poured a bunch of it onto one of us! If you are a waitress at a champagne lounge - haven't you opened enough bottles of champagne to not do that?! The ambiance also left a lot to be desired, just got pretty packed with a slightly ghetto crowd. I got into a b**** fight in the bathroom because there were only two stalls and these 2 girls decided to stay in a stall for 10+ minutes.
