by Kelvin Oglesbee on we had fun here, but in an amusement sort of way, kinda like midget porn is fun but not something I want to get involved with. the interior is great to look at. hated the music and the crowd was... reminds me of dallas. it's nice to see folks getting dressed up to dance, but I don't do that any more. we had cheap drinks and did have a good time (beer was $2 for blue moon/shiner/dos equis) I might go back and get real drunk and get thrown out. btw, we were waiting for a show at emo's to start and not exactly dressed up, I had the whole slacker look going on and had no problem w/ dress code.
by Lisa A. on I went to the Martini & Manicures Happy Hour many moons ago to celebrate a friend's birthday and ended up waking up on her couch the next day with GOLD painted fingernails. It was a fun night and I'd like to go back but if I do I'll probably pin a note on myself reminding me of the following: 1. Pick you fingernail polish color BEFORE you start drinking. 2. Take small, low breaths -- you need all the brain cells you've got and the paint fumes are not for going to help your cause any. 3. If you start going through the automated curtains over and over purely for fun (whether out of amazement or because you're acting like you're the prize behind Bob Barker's curtain) then it's time to go home.
by Bob Loblaw .. on Sorry, Mezzanine, but you just aren't working for me. I've seen two shows, and the sound sucked the one time, was better the second time. But mostly, I hate the crowd you attract. They don't know how to act at shows. They chit chat too much while the band is playing, and they push their way to the front even if there isn't a fucking inch of room. At the last show a group of people actually formed a circle and danced through like you see sometimes at weddings. :-S You get some good shows, which is why I'm not only giving one star, but as a music venue I think you pretty much suck.
