I like this place. The food is ok, and it is cheap. There are a few floors: restaurant on the first, bar on the second with good music, not hard club music for those who want to enjoy a night out and hear the person next to you. The 3rd floor is the club and dancing, that seemed pretty crazy. I was here recently and had not been for a while- there was a police officer there for security... on the third floor... ... really? Yikes, I guess I have not been out for a while. That aside, the food is ok, but I would not go out of my way for it. It is definately best when intoxicated, and the best way to do that is to order a few scorpion bowls with a few friends and finish the first one in a race. This is a fun place to go with a group, but not for eating unless it is a late night-after the club/bar snack.

I wasn't expecting much and was very pleasently surprised. You enter the front door and cream curtains automatically open up to announce your arrival, I thought it was hysterical. We just wanted snacks and drinks and this fit the bill. The menu seemed a little lackluster, but we were thinking empanads and the crispy trout. The server immediately replied, "Ewww, don't get those. They're the worst things on the menu." Uh oh. Not a good start. Instead we choose the crab tostadas and the cuban sandwich. The tostadas came out first. Crab, mango and avocado with lime juice. The mango was a tad overpowering for the delicate crab, but it worked. The lime juice cuts thought the richness of everything else. Very nice. The Cuban sandwich was near perfection. Almost authenic other than the ciabatta bread. I loved it and wanted to eat another one. The rum list is extensive. Our favorite of the drinks was the Razz Mojito from the drink list. A happy surprise that turned our first impression around. I'll be back.

For the record, I've always loathed this place... both the restaurant, and the club. The two merit their own reviews: Supperclub, the CLUB: The all white room screams Miami, and the place just attracts a really lame B&T crowd. For some reason, my friends keep throwing parties here. So I keep getting dragged on over, and every time I leave swearing I'll never come back. Then, just last night, I had a bit of an epiphany. See, I'm not really a party animal. I'm usually yawning through the night, ready for bed (I know, I'm lame). And so last night, and the sup, I realized, here I was, in the middle of the dance floor, and I can just go, lay down, chill out, and watched my crackhead friends go crazy. And when the dj plays a song I like, I can get up and jump on the bed. That actually works very well for me. Who'd have thunk it. Hence the 2 vs. 1 star. Supperclub, the RESTAURANT: On principle, I've refused to go here since this place opened. Frankly, I think it's a joke. I do not dine out to be served in a bed by costumed servers, and be interrupted by performances. I got out to eat. I certainly do not expect to pay the same for a crappy gimmicky meal at this place that could go to any one of hundreds of great restaurants in the city. Anyone who cares about the food when they eat out does not go here. Then, for work event. I actually ate here. They fucked it up, big time. The entire conference got completely trashed because it was an open bar and the kitchen didn't have their shit together, so our 5 course meal took an astonishing 4 hours to serve. The food was actually not terrible, I'll be honest. Not good, but not terrible. They served our creme brulee (which was not creme brulee) in... you'll never guess or believe it, but in ASHTRAYS. ashtrays. Oh and my favorite part (let me remind you this was a work event!), was a the end when the heavyset tranny stripped down to nothing for us. Particularly the part where the butt pads came peeling out of the nylons. Classy.
