Ugh, I've tried to like Middlesex. It's got the requisite hip, mod thing going on, with lots of dancing and alcohol, so the bases are covered ... yet ... no. It's just a large white box, and the lines outside starting at 9:30 on weekends, plus the unfornunate cover (cover? really? its cambridge!) are not worth it to dance inside a large white (CROWDED) box. least favorite experience here: stopped in here after hitting up a few other central bars. aka already semi-tipsy, aka palate is not as particular. ordered a cucumber martini-type drink (ok, I deserve what I got a little for ordering a high-brow drink like that at a white-boxed-dance-room) and it was legitimately a very, very, very cheap vodka sloshed into a glass and garnished with a single cucumber. I spit it out the second I tried to drink it. I'm not a sipper of plastic-bottle grade vodka. Gross.

The scorpion bowls are delicious, the service is great, the food was good at first but made me feel yukky the next day. I recommend going here if you're looking to sit down and have a few drinks!

If, in the past year, you've caught yourself thinking, "Man I haven't heard Ginuwine's 'Pony' in far too long, and TLC's 'Kick Your Game' (the So So Def remix, of course) just doesn't get the airplay it used to" then Bruno's may just be the place for you. And let's face it, you know you want to jump on it, do it, ride it, Ginuwine's pony. I don't know if I was early, of if the bouncer actually liked my Giants hat, but I got in free. It's a lot "nicer" than I remember it... wasn't this place a shithole before? Or do I just have it confused with 12 Galaxies? Anyhoo, it wasn't too bad early on, but as it got more and more crowded, it got more and more annoying, loud, and pushy. And the $5 Blue Moons weren't helping things. I wouldn't mind this place too much earlier in the night, or probably on a weekday, but I'm definitely in no hurry to go back and find out. It does definitely fill a niche in the neighborhood, though.
