by Kristofer Tannahill on Somebody get that waitress in the downstairs bar some anti-anxiety meds. stat. New Years morning brunch was supposed to be relaxed and chill at Trudy's, a spot highly recommended by a friend. But geeeeeez...I was getting so stressed out by our waitress! She looked totally frazzled the whole time, had no idea what was on the menu or what sauces came with the dishes. Plus, she messed up our order and it took wayyyyyyy too long to fix the problem. Basically, brunch took over two hours for our small party of 3, we never got our second dish fixed, and they took 15 minutes to bring our bill out (after we physically had to get up and remind them), and the bill was even incorrect when we received it. I totally get it was New Years day and the place was crowded. And I understand that the downstairs bar may not get the same attention as the upstairs dining room. They even sent over 2 managers to apologize to us, which was a nice unexpected gesture. I did enjoy the food (hence the 2 stars for the stuffed avocado), but my main message is: have more competent wait staff available in the future. please.
