Why are the lines so long outside of Drai's? I would venture to guess it's the Fire Marshall's doing. The venue is small to begin with (at least the deck section) which is exacerbated by the size of the cabanas situated around the pool. So for the big spenders in the cabanas...good on ya! During the day, the atmosphere is relaxed. If you're lucky enough to grab one of the few lounge chairs, it's a comfortable place to have a few cocktails and grab some sun. The D.J. was spinning some good music and the drinks were quite delicious. That; my friend is where the goodness ends. The cocktail waitresses were so busy primping, chatting with each other and the bartender that people one after the other were walking up to the bar and ordering their drinks. We were sitting upstairs and had closed out our bar tab so that we could support the cocktail waitress. She brought us one drink and then disappeared for an hour. When we finally walked down to the bar to find her, for some reason, she sent over another waitress with our check. Needless to say, she paid to serve us...$.01. Leaving the hotel around midnight to go see a show at the Music Box, I walked out past the velvet rope where at least 100 people were waiting to get in. One guy asked me "Why are you leaving?". I replied, "Why are you waiting to get in?". Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would stand behind a velvet rope. If I'm not on the list or with someone who is, I don't go near those places. Loved the sign in the bathrooms which specifically spells out in large letters NO DRUGS and one person in a stall at a time. Classy. I give it two stars for the view, day time atmosphere and the bartenders.

No words for how many great great nights I've had here. I bring all of my groups of friends here and it seems to work for anyone. The Polk Punch is a must do...and you can't complain about getting a drink for $5. Usually good music, and Dj's are good sports about requests....I am sure everyone can manage to have a good time here. Sweetness

black heart procession at the great american music hall was one of my all time favorite concerts. the mood of the music fit nicely with the dark baroque interiors and the acoustics were impeccable for the small venue. affordable concert tickets, usually ranging from $10-$15 and a good selection of beers on tap.
