by Mary P. on Expensive drinks, yes. A gentle reminder that you are at the St. REGIS Hotel ! - not Hotel 6. But opulent hotels serve overpriced, indifferent cocktails, aperitifs and liqueurs as well. You'll get value for your plastic at this bar. The service can be seen to be obsequious depending on the branding of your accessories. If like me you like the grand, woooded bastions of old school bars, you'll love the King Cole Bar. What I REALLY like is that you can, as a lady, have a peaceful and elegant drink here without being mistaken as an employee of the now defunct Emperor's Club. The bar staff and fellow customers don't assume you're here for pre-prandial cocktails with paying clients. I feel cossetted and protected while sipping my Tom Colins within the confines of The King Cole Bar. This is neither a fashionable or politically correct sentiment I know, but there it is. You can be as public or as private as you like at this lovely little bar.
by Jeff G. on I came here on a Thursday night and the club was surprisingly lively. Despite that, Arash, the manager, was surprisingly friendly with me despite the fact we only have a very minor connection. The bouncers were all also very friendly and the DJs they had that night were very talented. The club its self was much more large and open than most San Francisco clubs I've been to. The dance floor was very large and appropriately lit. Unlike most other clubs they don't have a lot of the flashing light displays, and some people (Like me) will really enjoy a less visually stressful environment. On that topic, the decor is very subdued and nice. The tables were extremely comfortable, with large tables. Even the smallest table accommodates 5 people comfortably, which is not something I can say for Infusion, for example. Looking at other reviews, I can see it's pretty much agreed that this is an excellent club, the only reason its not better-known is the out-of-the-way location. DO NOT let that stop you from coming here, this is an excellent club.
by Kirby Hannasch on Listen, I'm not gonna front -- I don't frequent the club scene very often. I had heard so much about this place (my best friend goes religiously, and another good friend works there). Needless to say, my time had come to check it out. Been twice now, and I love the scene. Music on Saturday was Miguel Migs, who I've now seen twice and have really enjoyed (as well as Julius Papp...this was their "Salted" party.) Great people just out to have a good time, good drinks, great sound; an all around pleasant experience. As far as clubs go, Mighty is a very fine place.
