I only went to the Red House for drinks and was thoroughly annoyed by the staff. I only had one drink and was there for about an hour before they closed but I will never go back. I ordered a michelada from the obviously closing bartender and he gruffed at me and my freinds as he made our drinks. The michelada was good and spicy a little too much worchestishire but other than that good. The thing that pissed me off was that he said that they were out of salt so me and my girlfreind had an unsalted margarita and michelada all the while a big box of morton rock salt almost within reaching distance at the bar. I understand wanting to get the hell out of your place of business but saying that you are out of salt at a restaraunt is ridiculous and unacceptable. It's sad really that people will not go to a place based on principal but sometimes one bad experience is all it takes when there are so many places to eat and drink these days.

We really liked this hotel. It is located within stumbling distance of Monk's Cafe. Breakfast is included and left at your door at the specified time in a cute little basket - so none of that awkward "room service entering your room while you're in the robe and not leaving until they are tipped" nonsense. The decor was simple but upscale - rich wood floors, lovely curtains, a delightful bed. The bathroom was large and well equipped. This is another hotel that provides free bottled water (this time two mini bottles waiting in the fridge). The staff were polite and competent for the brief interactions we had with them. Don't be put off by the odd elevator lobby and reception being on the second floor. A little oasis in the heart of Philly awaits you.

I'm a little fortunate this is on Sunday night or I would be here every weekend. The music is great and they have outstanding guest DJs. The drinks are pricey but that is fine with me because I have to work the next day. As far as the venue, the dance floor is more than ample with a huge smoking patio (aces for that alone) and the sound system is top notch. The crowd has a good vibe but then again most house clubs do. There is something about girls who can dance to house music that is really attractive. The music drives everything and I guess the music doesn't bring the same meat market, bump and grind, game facing crowd hip hop brings. Don't get me wrong I like Hip Hop but the vibe is different. Finally, Deep - Where House Lives.. Enough said!
