After a few mimosas ($7 for unlimited mimosas with the purchase of brunch) my mathematical came up with Lime = champagne brunch + gay club. Definitely NOT your typical brunch spot - the music is pretty loud, people will come up and talk to you, and you will be drunk by the end of it. The food was surprisingly good! Very solid eggs benedict with garlicky and perfectly-greasy potatoes. It is maybe $1 or 2 overpriced, but you're also paying for the experience. My favorite part might have been after brunch, being asked to leave by our server because we were there for nearly 2 hours, but then continuing to hang out in the lounge area to the left of the entrance. It was crowded! Lots of people to watch and interact with. Seriously, Lime is such a fun place, you gotta make the trip.
by Ernest Sarles on I'm a believer in second chances. And I gave Temple a second chance. And a third one. But it was always the same. Bouncers who are full themselves with bad attitudes? Holding the line like crazy so people can't get in at a decent time even if they're on the guestlist, OR even worse, on the VIP table list? Crowded bar? Drinks that are either watered down or badly mixed? Bad house / trance-ish / hiphop music? Check. Check. Check. Check ... and check. The decor is nice and the club is fairly big, hence the two stars. There are some other nice clubs in the area - just go to those instead!
by Samantha W. on bimbo's is fancy and that scares me a little. not enough to stop me from going, it is a great place to see a show. the drinks are in really little glasses, which makes no sense and seems to be somehow correlated to the general fanciness. the wee glasses do nothing for me. but then it is about the music, not the glasses, right? bimbo's is a big place that feels like a small place. it is nice. far away and annoying that the tickets sell out, but nice. and fancy.
