After hearing so much about Bootie, I expected the place to be, simply put, amazing. I was a little disappointed once I got there. The cover was $10, aptly so for an SF nightclub, but I wouldn't pay that again to go to this club. The place was a big open warehouse-esq place with a top and bottom level. There was 1 bar in the corner and they served pretty good drinks-expensive but pretty good. The cool thing about Bootie is the live band. They're pretty amazing. I forget the name of the lead singer, but she's pretty fabulous. Like really fabulous. They play great cover songs that you can rock out to on the dance floor. Also, there's a taco bar on the second level that's open till 3 am so if you're hungry after dancing, you just climb on up to the second floor and get your tacos! The bad (and this is really important)- they only play mashup songs. It's difficult to really dance to the songs they play because it's not really dancable music. They're great to listen to but not for dancing. I realize that this is what Bootie is known for, but If Bootie changed their music selections (or added something other than mashups) it would be an even better dance club!

I would prefer giving zero stars to this place! The parking attendants were courteous and it was all down hill from there on. Being on time for my reservation I expected a certain amount of communication from the staff of what was supposed to be a top flight restaurant. For an hour I watched wait staff running around frantically, most with worried looks on their faces as if they could not keep up. Also during the hour I noticed who was getting seated first. It was those that choose to start their dinner off by yelling at the hostesses. What a treat! I am motivated to pay a lot of money to get shunned by hostesses, watch wait staff in heart attack mode, and finally the crowd was about as big a bunch of posers as I have seen gathered in one place. Needless to say I left without eating there. I could not imagine sitting there yelling at hostesses and sharing heart meds with wait staff. If you wish to truly enjoy an evening of fine dining don't go here! Some of the staff were nice but they just do not have their act together. I was warned and did not heed that warning, you have been warned!
