Interesting little club and aptly named Le Club. The strangeness of this club is that it feels like you are in a private home that happens to have a bar with random people in it. The place is made of three different rooms which are connected together on the first floor with a bar smashed between two rooms. The largest room is in the back and it holds a pool table for you to lounge with. It can get a bit crowded here so be prepared and find your seat quickly. Also the food here wasn't that tasty as I tried some sliders that tasted ok.

It is VERY fitting... that my 100th review on rateclubs is for a restaurant in NYC that just opened up... I read about Lavo through Urban Daddy last month, but didn't think I would still be in NYC when it opened... lucky for me, my date snagged us a reservation during the soft opening: 09/10/10. this place has a great ambiance.. you walk in through the grandiose bar area, where you are greeted by 2 sexy hostesses, and into the ample dining area... all the servers, bussers, etc. are good-looking and friendly.. PLUS! we basically asked the server to offer her recommendations to us and ordered the following: apps: kobe beef carpaccio: light & tasty tuna tartare: YUMMM... it looked like a giant sushi roll... uber delish! entree: shrimp scampi: tasty, but I don't recall the menu mentioning that it was breaded (I might have been too busy being smitten over my date to notice though, hah!), I think that kind of took away from the flavor. nevertheless, also good in taste chilean sea bass: also breaded, but sooooooo incredibly light and delish.... it literally melts in your mouth drinks: man-date ordered Pinot Noir I ordered the basilica (strawberry & basil, vodka drink)... it was good (not great), but I guess after having tasted the best strawberry/basil/vodka drink at Drago Centro (in dt la)... very few can compare... dessert: bread pudding: while I am not a big fan of dessert, this was actually pretty good.. not over-poweringly sweet... just the right moisture in the bread... caramel dressing... YUM! I was actually going to give the restaurant 4 stars, but then when I factored in SOFT-OPENING on a friday night... I realized I should probably give them the extra star, because I am sure they are even better now that they have fully opened... ;)!

So I've always heard about these korean clubs and the notorious "booking" that goes on in them. But you know what. It was definitely an enjoyable experience. 1. You don't get strange creeps groping your ass or dry-humping you on the dance floor like every other club in Hollywood. Even the drunk korean guys don't do this. 2. Girls get (if you get in early and call your server) free table + free bottle of crown (albeit watered down because I remember taking more than 20 shots of that) and a free huge fruit platter. 3. The first table I got dragged to pissed me off and made me laugh until my stomach hurt. So the guy I got stuck with was teaching me all the Chinese phrases his Chinese friends taught him. Namely I have a big dick. Booking was fun. Because honestly you can say no. It's no biggie. And the guys are chill- maybe because we werent Korean... but one highlights of the night was when I ran into a room to escape a server and found a huge group of my Korean friends celebrating someone's birthday. Although the waiters ARE aggressive... escaping one room to be caught by another waiter and pushed into another room... 3 million times gets annoying... but Korean guys either don't have enough balls to get girls or... respect them too much? Some are really nice! (DR K! - he definitely saved me a few times when I was coming out of the bathroom and actually escorted me back to my table.) The dance floors great-small but decent, all girls (minus awkward drunk korean buys who.. just can't dance) and alot of fun. And Dr. K. Well either he had a soft spot to me begging him to give us a break and warded off 3 servers from grabbing us 5 girls into another room OR I was probably very violent and smacked him for not "protecting us". I don't remember. But hey, if booking is like this every time, hell yeah, I found a new place to party at. Plus side: VALET WAS $5!!!!! Where the fuck do you get $5 dollar parking clubbing in hollywood?!?!?! I wonder......... if reverse booking works. Tipping outrageously to make sure servers don't take you to old ajusshis...... lol
