by Pho U. on UPDATE: People - DEEP occurs on SUNDAY night, not SATURDAY night. The events on Saturday nights have way different music. Sunday = DEEP house. If you were at Vanguard on SATURDAY then you were not at the DEEP night and therefore your review shouldn't be here. Why you should go: The BEST deep house music in LA, period, hands down. Easy-breezy crowd, no attitudes, just good times and dancing. Marques mutha'f'ing Wyatt...enough said. Why you shouldn't go: Bouncers are tools (they wouldn't let me use the bathroom as the club was closing - so I pissed right outside). Drinks are pricey.
by bex g. on if i could give this place ten stars i would. on a sunday night, when you are thinking "where can i go for dinner that would just make this weekend perfect?" i always end up here. both rooms have their own different style and feel to them, and create a great atmosphere. the food...well it is the best chinese food i have ever had, and kids, i have been to beijing and shanghai ok? my absolute favorite time to go is during chinese new year. they have dragon parades outside, and at the end of your meal give you a red mug with the new year's symbol on it, a special fortune cookie and a red envelope with a coin inside for luck in the new year. the menu is always being added to, and if you are adventurous, you can find some amazing creations. plus, the vegetarian options are too numerous to count, but the meat eaters are amply satisfied too. mmmm...might have to make a trip there this week...
