by Richa A. on I've only been here for drinks. I like the vibe of this place. Bartenders are friendly, esp. if you're here earlier in the night, but it does get busy later and service can be unnecessarily slow at times. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area, but nothing amazing.
by Kelly H. on I heart Loca Luna:) Especially for big groups and birthday parties, they are very accommodating. I had my birthday dinner at the old location last fall, and they were more than accommodating for my group of 20 ppl, but definitely make a reservation if going on a Friday or Saturday night! Then I went with a group of 15 this past Friday to the new location on Amsterdam, and I was shocked to see it was about 3 times the size of the old place! And even though they lost our updated reservation, we were seated within 30 minutes, and the food (which is super cheap, by the way!) came out quickly and the server had no issues with splitting up our checks. Plus the bar is not a bad place to hang out while you're waiting to be seated, since there is so much to look at and you can even test out your salsa dancing skills as well! A+ place for big groups, definitely!
by Man Pilbin on Just okay. I was originally drawn to this place when I worked in the area, and thought it looked really impressive from the outside. Unfortunately, that's as far as it went. I didn't mind that the dishes were a little pricier than cheap Chinese food, but I expected it to taste better. It just wasn't anything special or memorable, and other than the strong cocktails (which you can get at pretty much ANY Chinese food restaurant), I was not impressed.
