Went last week for my friends bday. Show was good. It was good. What wasn't good was EVERYTHING ELSE. Ordered mozz sticks and mushrooms, they were out. Took our waiter 30 min to come tell us. So we ordered spring rolls instead. Our drinks were slow and last call came quick. BTW where's our food? never came. He brought our receipt which I signed over naked men (always check it before signing! which I didn't) and then left. After I added the totals in my head 4 x$11 mixed drinks and 4 beers @$6 = $68) I was horrified when I realized that the bill was $95 and i still left him a $20 tip. So after the show I asked the waiter if the food was charged because I never got it, he said no. I asked for my copy, he said the registers were closed and couldn't give me one. WTF! I ask to speak to the mgr who assured me no food was added. I want a copy of my receipt! nope can't do it. I told him the total was wrong. He told me to wait 30 min and he can TRY and get me a copy. I was overcharged by a few drinks and by the time I explained that my drinks I had were on the table, the tables were gone. It took me over an hr to get this handled and I still had to pay for drinks I never received. So out of 3 girls (1 who was a designated driver) we somehow drank  10 drinks and one of us is drunk?  My buzz went away pretty fast after that incident. I was telling my friends as we went out and security overheard me and said they do it all the time!! They see who's wasted enough to not notice the bill and they get away with it. Well I won't be going back here, and not that they'll need my business anyway, they'll make it up by ripping YOU off. Oh yah and throughout this they were SO DAMN RUDE!

3 Stars (once again, an awesome view saves the day) My preppie sometimes douchey friend who drives a BMW and loves wearing pastel colors while living in Ft Mason and usually fronting the bars in the Marina texted me and said he'd be chillin' at a bar in the Mission on Saturday night. NO WAY. Yes way, he insisted.  A bar called Bejeweled. So I finally find my way to MEDJOOL (idiot) around 10:30 on a Saturday night and I thought to myself, of course he'd pick the whitest bar in the mission to drink. It's a huge venue.  People were still eating and lounging on the first floor.  I made my way to the second floor to lightly push my way through classy looking chicks all dolled up and heavily starched button down metrosexuals standing in small tight groups (which was where I found my friend).  He complained that he just had to pay $6 for beer.  I quickly thought about the $2 PBR over at Make-Out Room.  Sighs. After catching up with him real quick I told him I was gonna go check out the view.  As the crowds slowly swallowed him up he gave me a confused look as I walked away and mouthed "View???" Um, ya, homeboy... I hope you didn't think that all of Medjool included a dance floor and a second floor overlooking the dance floor. I walk up a few flights of stairs and BAM!  This is the only thing saving Medjool.  The view was amazing that night.  It was a tad chilly but there were heat lamps.  One coke for my lady friend, and a shot of whiskey for me cost $10.  SIGHS. Nicely dressed folks. The dude who checked my ID at the roof bar, the dude who gave the bartender my order, the bartender, and the front door men were the only ones who hit on me and were super duper friendly. I'd only come back with a crowd that I liked.  I wouldn't come back just to be looking for someone. As I'm writing this review I'm listening to Solange Knowles' 'Still is the Move' (a Dirty Projectors' cover)

A favorite of mine and some of my tribe. After a few hrs of Xmas shopping we ( two friends and myself) made our way to the King Cole Bar. It was surprisingly crowded. There was a group of people waiting at the door, we of course forced ourselves in, harking our arrival.. "Alcoholics Cummin' Through!"  There was no room anywhere at the bar, so we picked a corner and put all of our bags down and waited for our drinks. This place is great for a martini or something serious. I had a few Manhattans, with Knob Creek...a favorite. As for a dress code, i have never worn a jacket here, except maybe a fleece coat or something like that. This time I was was wearing a cashmere sweater with a worn out pair of chinos. The cool thing about this place is that alot of people don't really know about this spot and the drink prices keep the screwheads out. Also it seems a good number of celebrities of stage, screen, sports, etc have a sip or two here. Its a great bar to get a serious drink without the nonsense, TV crews, autograph hounds, gawkers, etc..
