by Nicole L. on I attended a charity event there last night and it was packed. That being said, there was a decent amount of open space with very high ceilings, which is nice for NYC, but I found the floor to be pretty sticky and there were very few places to sit. I did like the fact that the seating area was raised a few steps from the main dance floor so it was easy to scan the crowd. The music was forgettable (mostly background) and the drinks were very expensive ($10 for a rum & coke and $11 for a gin & tonic).
by Kiara B. on This place is mediocre at best. I mean, I had high hopes after looking at the number of people in the restaurant and reviewing the prices. BUt I must say, they fell a little short. First of all, the food is INCREDIBLY overpriced. Most of the time you get something pretty good, but I really don't think that it is worth the prices. Maybe the guacamole, but even that could be a little cheaper. I ordered some sort of Quesidillas and they were okay, but definitely nothing special. I think I have had better at Taco Bell. Also, maybe it was just because we went during a busy time, but the service was pretty darn slow. AND they forget two parts of order. Lastly, I must say that this location just doesn't compare to others I have been to. I went to locations in New York and Washington and they were much better (especially the location in New York- It had less of a chain-y feel). Anyways, I guess I would recommend this place, but it definitely isn't my first choice.
by Greg Meo on Gross! I know I will probably offend many here, but dammit, I think 2 stars is being generous and playing it safe. If you're rating it 3 or higher, I hope it's on the mood, memories,or that it's one of the few (so sad, Atlanta) 24hr spots, and not on the food. I have been here a couple of times and each time ask myself why didn't I go to Waffle House? The food at Waffle is much better considering they use real eggs. It's a cardinal sin not to have real eggs at a diner--dive or not. The fact that it's not a chain and insists on maintaining their quality of food should disappoint instead of exaltation. The dive, drunks, and all the other negative marketed as cool should not excuse the fact the food is far from greasy. Greasy would be a compliment. At first I thought I was spoiled, because I have been to some good diners and should go easy on the classic Majestic, but taste buds would not have it. Diners, home of the comfort food, the dress how you came, the loners, stoners, drunks, psychos, the Saturday night to the Sunday best, should be as greasy and heart clogging as any heart attack would tell ya but all the grease at KFC can't save ya if the food lacks.
