I don't know I know this place is cheesy and a bit out there, but hey I think its fun, and I always have to make a stop here when I am in Miami. The food isn't half bad either, the drinks keep them coming. I definitely will be back, afterall I have to keep up my tradition.
by Jules T. on I have been hearing about this place for a couple of years but couldn't find the time to work it in.. I mostly heard from the older grown and sexy crowd that it was THE place to go eat, drink and listen to some good jazz music....WELLLL, the service was excellent !!! The food was pretty good. I had the chicken gumbo which was yummy, and my friend had chicken on a stick, looked really really weird so I didn't try it. She said it was good..Drinks, I didn't rock the boat that night with anything new so it's hard to screw up vodka on the rocks with a sugar rim and lemon twist so of coarse it was good. The crowd was very diverse. A young group of girls celebrating someones 24th birthday...They looked kinda lost in the grownup world. I think they were looking for Thirsty Thursday's or one of the 18 to party clubs couldn't find it and ended up here...They tried to dance to the jazzy music but their soul train line kept derailing another young girl who must have jumped off the 12th floor to squeeze into the dress she was wearing kept flashing people from the top and the bottom felt like I was in some weird old people young people clash..I don't think I will return unless I am meds. And the best crowd pleasing sound that was played was the electric slide ???? hello ?????
by Kayleigh Betters on No, the previous reviewer is right. This place is a dump with the food to match. I think people who like this place do so because they are either plastered when they visit, or its some sort of nostalgia thing. I don't eat at Awful House, and this place is no better.
