Restaurant Week, Fall 2010: Heck yes. My fiancee and I went to Zahav just last night, and even though neither of us felt great, the service and food were so good that our ailments didn't affect what we thought of the place AT ALL. At first I was bummed that we were at a table in the middle of the dining room instead of a booth or a wall-table (I always feel so vulnerable!), but after a couple minutes, it didn't bother me at all. The service was OUTSTANDING, and the food was incredible. I ordered one thing that wasn't to my liking (the fried kibbe), and both our waiter and the manager insisted I try something else, even though I was getting so full! My replacement dish (watermelon salad) was amazing, and I have to urge all beef eaters to get The Farsi. Now.

Selam was unprepared for business. There was "entertainment" singing old American songs which had nothing to do with the environment of the restaurant. We sat outside, to avoid the music, and were forgotten about several times during the evening. there was no unsweetened tea, and after asking for diet cokes 3 times, we finally got diet cokes with no carbonation. It took well over an hour to get our food. Once the food arrived, it wasn't bad, but it was a little bland for Ethiopian cuisine. Overall, I would have to say pass on this place.

My friend threw me a birthday party here during the summer, and it was amazing. The view is amazing, and it's a great place to hang out and talk to friends without loud, blaring music. The ship is really old and funky, which is awesome.
