by Gloria C. on As someone who was visiting Philly, I just had to have the cheesesteak at Geno's and the rival Pat's. Geno's sucks. I wanted very much to like it. I mean, I walked from Independence Hall to Geno's, starving and willing to love anything resembling a good cheesesteak. Sadly, this had nothing good. There was no flavor, only the small amounts of onion in it and the parts where I mistakenly put hot sauce in. The meat was somewhat cool to touch and flavorless, bread was too hard. Overall, not worth it. I have to say - I went to eat at Pat's the next day: Pat's surprised me in a good way. Go for Pat's instead. ( If you had to have one.) I do like their cheesy ostentatious sign... it's very festive.
by Milagros Verrill on love this place. i agree with what everyone else says but I just had to share my experience last weekend. omg loaded queso you are my best long lost friend. me and a friend split the pollo with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, and got the queso it was supposed to be smothered in on the side, so it actually worked out great. served with corn tortillas? it was like mini fajitas without all the work and a little on the healthy side. love it! also, friends got the steak fajitas and weren't sure if they were just super hungry or these were the best fajitas they had ever had. big ups for the agua fresca, which is kind of like a margarita but not as sweet and only made with fresh juices, and tequila. wonderful and refreshing.
by Elayne Palagi on This used to be my spot... like 4 years ago. It has had it's day and is a little tired. It's small, guys not that hot, and way to empty for weekend business. The music is top 40, drinks are $10-15, and appropriate attire is hollywood skank.
