by Elizabeth B. on Come for the food, stay for the amazing cocktails, return for the late night dance party. Golden Temple has it all. A casual meal, a nice date, a classy bar, and awkward dancing. The menu: 15 pages. The cocktail menu: several pages as well, featuring highballs, frozen concoctions, sake, beer, you name it! Everything I've eaten there has been delicious. And the cocktails are generally around $10, which is not bad considering how elaborate and tasty they are. Worth coming in just for a drink, and maybe getting distracted by an appetizer or two. One gripe: the service could be better. An older gentleman seems to be in charge and knows his stuff, but, with another waiter, we, well, waited... a long time. Somehow it doesn't stop me from coming back. I dream of your lo mein and mai tais.

My girlfriend & I simply wanted to enjoy a nice drink, a delicious appetizer in a cozy spot where we could catch up. Our wine glasses were foggy ... our appetizer plates were served dirty ... I don't think their dishwasher works properly. We didn't know the pesky fruit flies would be also be drinking some of our wine and eating some of our food. Despite my complaints ... it seemed others were enjoying their time and space there. Mostly sipping some espresso whilst working away on their laptops. Unfortunately, I can't say I will return.
by Liza B. on I come here with friends of owners/mgt and I'm still only giving this place 2 stars (what does that say). I had friends in from out of town and we all know that we have to take the out-of-towners to the meatpacking at least once. So we headed over and even knowing people at the door they still gave us shit and even having drink tickets we still had a bad time inside. The music is cheesy and very typical of clubs - can't the DJ just stick with hip hop and not go into the 80s classics that they play in Irish Pubs? The one thing I will say about this place is the drinks are strong. I'm not sure how much they are but they are def strong in a good way. The interesting thing is that even though the door policy is so hardcore the place is PACKED inside. It's difficult to move even if you have your own table. The weekend is def the Long Island/Jersey kids while the week is mostly new yorkers coming out for some event. If you have the option go on a weekday. My favorite thing about this place is the long hallways with mirror when you first enter. Don't expect much when you come here...it's just another city club.
