by Cheryl B. on I work in the area and stopped in to try their sesame beef tacos for lunch - YUM! Delicious and very reasonably priced. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu for sure!
by Byron Trotty on Yummy for airport food, great sauce! I didn't get a chance during my trip to Austin to get to the real Salt Lick so I decided to get a taste at the airport. I went with the brisket and sausage platter. I found everything to be delicious. Even the beans! (ok, well not the slaw, that was kinda gross) I liked my meal, thought the sauce was great, bread was soft and wonderful. Everything was great till I arrived home from my flight... then everything returned the way it had gone. Headquarters thinks it was too rapid to be food poisoning, but all my experience with food poisoning, my system wants that crap out, and out fast... I still thought the food was good, but would probably skip the airport location.
by Brian Mithani on It has been a while since I've been to B&B's, and their food has definitely improved. My friend and I loved our meal. I had the Goat Cheese Salad (greens, cherry tomato, endives with sundried tomato, fried goat cheese croquettes with a cherry vinaigrette dressing) + Yam fries (the Yin-Yang combo of the food world). My friend had the Seafood Kabobs. After seeing our neighbors order the Gingerbread Cake with caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream, we had to try it ourselves. Everything was absolutely delicious! We ate every last morsel. I love the darkened blues club feel (minus the smoke). The room itself is a good size, intimate but not cramped. We saw Kim Nalley's gospel Christmas show - she's a fabulous performer. She even had some special musician friends come up and jam with her - good times! I'm glad we made a dinner reservation, because the place was full by the time the show started.
