by P B. on Been coming here and playing here for 14 years. Dragonfly is always a good time. Discovered many a new band on this stage. The bartenders and staff are always friendly, and recognize you from the last time you were in there. The shows are eclectic from rock to fetish shows to plays to artwalks. The Monday art walks are great for discovering new up and coming talent. The Friday Miss Kitty's are a people watchers dream. When you catch a rock show in here it's a comfortable size and the sound for years and years has always been top notch. A Los Angeles landmark of rock!!
by know it on If you don't mind skanky, this might be the place for you. The bartender is smiling cuz she is hopin you will take her home at the end of the night. (It may be necessary to reinforce your floor beams if you choose to do this) Watch your wallet.... it might come up missing. The smell is... well.... nasty, and I wouldn't recommend touching anything unless you have had your tetnus shot.
by Lazaro Laitinen on Just went to Zahav this past week with a few friends and all I can say was I was very disappointed. When you look at the menu pricing you'd think that it was reasonable, but when the food portion comes out -- definitely not worth it! It was so small that babies would probably cry of hunger afterwards. I also agree with Lauren C's review below -- they should let everyone know that they are basically a really expensive tapas spot. Other than the food, our waitress was very pushy. She kept asking me if I wanted a drink after i told her numerous times that I was okay with my glass of water. And when asking about the food items on the menu, she seemed almost annoyed that she had to explain. Go here if you want to pay alot for small portions of "just ok" food. It's a definite no for me.
by Preston B. on Ok, so if you told me I would be a regular at a bar at the age of 23... I would have laughed in your face... no really. So this bar defied ALL expectations with me. At first glance it is a dive... and there are drag queens... and an older crowed... and no disco ball... BUT there is a great charm that is unexplainable. My friend and I go constantly because we feel like we can enjoy ourselves there. Nowhere in the castro can I walk in and hear all the bartenders say my name and know what I drink... ok well maybe badlands... but sleeping with the bartenders doesn't count... does it??? Just kidding... kinda. The drag shows on fridays are so fun to watch, and on saturdays they usually have fun stuff going on. Plus the drinks are super strong and the staff is just fun. Ohh cinch... you stole my heart. This is for everyone who is slightly tired of the castro. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Cafe and Badlands.... but this is for the more relaxed night out.
