GREAT HOSPITALITY Started my birthday night here with four other girls. We got there early (for a weekend night) so it started out a little empty. BUT when the guy outside (might have been the manager?) heard it was my birthday, he let us all in for free (supposed to be $20 per person, I think) AND gave us drink tickets to get things rolling. BOSS: GOOD RIDDANCE I love the new layout - you don't get that sauna feeling anymore and it's a lot prettier than when it was Boss. Even when it started to pick up, bar service was speedy and friendly (can't stand snotty bartenders). The bartender even exchanged my water bottle for me bc I'd left it unattended for a while (can't be too careful). I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS SONG IN FOREVER! Best part about Manor West, in my opinion: the music. The DJ was AWESOME, playing a variety of old and new songs -- most of which we knew and loved (which made our Guess-The-Artist game pretty exciting). Every time the music changed (which he mixed perfectly -- the DJs at Infusion may want to take a lesson from this guy) we couldn't help but yell "This song??? What! I Love this song!!" (yes, we're *those girls*). WILL DEF. GO BACK The same guy that took care of us when we arrived made sure to bid us farewell and thank us for coming. When I return, if it's busier, Manor West will get all five stars. Until then: rev up the promoting, guys. Get some people into that place. They won't be disappointed.

So after Cityscape, we checked out the Starlight Room (Sir Francis Drake Hotel). The view is ok (26th floor) compared to Cityscape (46th floor). There's a cover charge of $15 (by the I'm not a fond of) but whatever, it's my first time. Saturday night was packed, that included a bridal party. For the first time, we felt we were the youngest patrons in the crowd. There was a live music but unless you are drunk then you won't care. In short it wasn't that great but they did a good job in hyping up the patrons. We decided to just hang out at the bar. Cocktail prices were pricey, beer and Chambord sour for $20 something. The bartenders were friendly but my Chambord sour tasted like cough syrup, yuck. They do not have hypnotiq or the mix for my hurricane, boo! Oh well, regardless we made the most of our cover charge. Hhmmm, I might check this place out on Wed night, I heard it's poppin. (dj = hiphop)

Fun times in rateclubs land! But a great spot really..very cavernous, very much a cool spot. I like the mix of dance floor and seating...but I think it also depends on what kind of event goes down in here. For the rateclubs event? Perfecto.
