First off, let me say that I'm not a Buckhead girl. A friend suggested we go here to go dancing, and, being bored with the same-old same-old, I said yes. Secondly, this place is reminiscent of a third-world country in a number of respects. First, the whole place is a "complex," once you're inside, you can't help but visualize armed guards around the perimeter keeping the starving riffraff out. The most tolerable area in the complex was the Disco for Old People, which my friend immediately described as "being like a discotheque in Dakar, Senegal." While I enjoyed dancing with the middle-aged folks for a while, the bar was a bit grating. Domestic beers are $4.00, imports $5.00. I ordered a Sweetwater 420 and was charged $5.00. When I argued that the beer was made *in this city*, the pricing was not adjusted. My friend and I wound up going to MJQ, where a much better time was to be had. Should you get a sufficient pre-game going on, this would be a great place for a Hunter S. Thompson-style pseudoanthropological experience. Also, you can park in the shopping center a couple of blocks down the street for free.

I don't like this venue as I've only been here once in my life for my Meetups which there was no cover fee. Since I've only been to this venue only once it gave me a very bad taste when "first impressions last." The bands they elist to perform does not get the audience to interact. Guests were not dancing to the bands' performance or were they interested. The drinks are extremely over-priced. All drinks are served in plastic cups. The coat check for the winter/autumn months is approx. $7.00 which is a complete rip-off. I would not bother giving any tip for that ridiculously expensive coat check fee. This venue is over-rated despite of it's long history, glamour, and numerous large dance hall rooms. The VIP is indeed a segregation from non-VIP guests. The Taj Lounge in the Gramercy-Flatiron is a much BETTER venue for clubbing despite of the smaller size as their coat check is reasonable $3.00.

for me there are two selling points about bOb. first being the music. as has been mentioned it is like a really well done house party on that front. ive heard everything from blackstar, crooked i, non-phixon, wu-tang, cash money, gangstarr, etc all played the same night. the other selling point is the people that bOb seems to attract. everyone genuinely seems to be there to just have a good time and dance. none of those pressed-up against the wall types who can do nothing but mean mug folks.
