by shastina o. on can i give no stars? =/ i jumped on the groupon bandwagon too... major disappointment. my husband and i were seated after waiting 10 minutes for the hostess to return from only god knows where. i wish i was kidding when i say we sat for a full TWENTY minutes with out even a single acknowledgement from a waiter or bus boy. i had had enough of sitting in the LOUD music and darting glares at the waitstaff who completely ignored my husband and i... ridiculous. my husband is calling tomorrow to demand our $35 back from the restaurant. *crossing my fingers*
by Daniel G. on I hadn't said a word, but I was handed a coffee as soon as I walked in. Heaven. Best brunch in Philadelphia, hands down. Menu changes every saturday with bold and daring ingredient combinations that always pay off. Be aware, Carman uses her kitchen to proudly display her collection of phallic kitsch. That's right - penises everywhere.
by Sherwood Cumpston on We came here for a large birthday dinner and we were seated on the patio. It was a great place to have a fun time with good friends. The patio was a bit chilly and faced a noisy street, but XIV had heat lamps and pashmina wraps on hand for the women. The service was incredible, there were almost 2 employees to every patron. If you asked an employee where the restroom was they would not point, but they would lead you (we found out later, this was mandated by management). The decor was beautiful and accented the food nicely. Come with a large group only if you are ready for a long dinner (3+ hours) Very fun though! I definitely recommend for a special event.
