by Em C. on This review is only for the club, not the restaurant. I'm not sure if it was because I was with great company or if this place really was a great atmosphere to be in. I had a great time acting a fool, getting my groove on, pushing my way through sluts and "pimps", observing that its terrible to know most asians have no rhythm. But hey, im not complaining because it just made be feel better to know that "Hey who am i here to impress? we all dance the same!" I think that night was a synergy event so the music was top40's plus old school jams, which imo, was THE BEST. Plenty of seating around the sides of the venue, two floors made it more exciting, easy access to free water on both ends of the bar which made it helpful, and plenty of bathroom stalls so you dont have to wait for girls to stumble and slut their way outta the stalls for 10 minutes. -1/2 star for having carpetted dance floors at some ends of the place but its a restaurant by day, club by night..so I cant be picky. -1 star for cover. $25 for cover? you must be shittin me, the last time I checked i was clubbin in SF, not vegas. SMH for that pricey ass cover. But like they say "if you dont like it, dont buy it"...and unfortunately, my friends and ride did, so I had to take one for the team, but the music and venue did not disappoint! 4/5 stars.. pretty good for having sober fun!
by Manie Pflueger on So, I was really excited to go check out the new, refurbished Fountainebleau Hotel and also shake my groove thing while doing it. I was invited to the grand opening of LIV the night following the huge opening of the hotel and i couldn't wait! After our workout (had to park a mile from the hotel and then walk that mile in our tall tall boots... good thing they were made for walking!), we got to the very packed lobby. I was sure we were going to wait forever in line as I heard people complaining that they were on the list and that they had been waiting forever. As I made my way to the velvet rope, the very attractive Italian bouncer looks at me and asks me "How many?" and I point to my friends and he quickly opens the rope and, to my amazement, we waltz right in!!! I couldn't believe our luck!! We were beyond ourselves! After hearing the horror stories of hours of wait, we get there and walk right in! This place is beautiful! When you walk in, you are hit by a wave of dancing laser lights, heart-pumping electronic music, and beautiful people. The main floor is downstairs, where the DJ booth sits. The place was so packed that you couldn't even dance! I am a fan of a nicely packed dance floor but if you can't even do that, then we've got problems. As you look up from the main dance floor, you can see into the glass-wall VIP booths which look like they are suspended in the air, surrounded by light bulbs. LIV's decor is beautiful and it will definitely become the it place for the Miami club scene. We then decided check out the upstairs and go (sneak) into a private room, where they were playing music we could dance to and hung out for a good hour. After crashing Rebekah's party and toasting with Champagne in her honor, we found ourselves in a little nook close to the entrance where there was more room to dance, though oodly enough, no one was doing it. I guess models don't eat or dance. People were just hanging out and talking, though the music was so loud I couldn't even hear myself think. After a couple of hours of dancing and flirting with the ridiculously good-looking male models, we decided we had enough fabulousness and called it a night. This place is definitely beautiful and a must to check out but I don't know if it was because it was opening night but the music was alright and I feel like it lacked a little something.
